The Brazilian semiarid region is one of the largest and most populous in the world. It extends over an area covering a total of 974 752 km². Northeastern watersheds, especially those located in the semiarid portion, have been degraded over the decades due to extensive human activity as the removal of native vegetation and the irrational use of land for agriculture and livestock. The erosion of these soils is related to nature itself causes such as the amount and distribution of rainfall, slope, length and shape of slopes, the type of vegetation and also the action of man, as the use and management of land that in most cases, tend to accelerate erosion. The use of a Geographic Information System (GIS) integrated with hydrologic model assists in managing and manipulating data, and through him we observed the erosion potential of soils in BHSRSF, in which much of the study area has an average risk associated with vulnerability patches of soil; beyond a certain degree of stability associated with areas with less than 3% that make up the field of landscape of the basin slopes. Finally, it was observed that one should have a better planning of land use in the near concentrations of water reservoirs regions due to the risks of degradation found.
